Abridged form for an institutional author in in-text citations ?

A PhD student asks me how to proceed to make an institutional author appear in an abridged form in the in-text citation, and in a developed form in the bibliography. For instance : World Health Organization… in the bibliography, but (WHO, 1991) in the in-text citation. I do not think it is possible. But maybe I am wrong… Does anybody have an idea?

This student is using the Chicago 15th B.

The easiest way is to edit the citation to hide the author and have him type it in to the prefix.  If he has to do it many many times, there are other more complicated tricks, but this one is the easiest.  Don’t forget to tell him to add the comma to the end of the name, so it doesn’t get treated as a conventional first name surname scenario.
