I have a large library of PDFs accumulated over several years. I’ve done an import and seem to have over 1000 that do not have a reference identified. The vast majority of these pdfs have title, author, journal and volume information in easy to spot locations on the front page. Ideally, I’d like to see endnote find references by using these clues. Failing that, I’d like to be able to load a manually located .enw to the dummy reference created when the PDF was imported. The solution in this conversation: " thomsonreuters.com/t5/EndNote-How-To/pdf-import-doesn-t-work-even-with-DOI/td-p/130090" is acceptable if you have to do it once in a while, but the value of the ‘import pdf’ option is all about building a reference to go alongside it.
