My problem is very simple and not vital, but I just thought somebody here might know…
I only have two categories of items in my bibliography : one category for my primary sources in one specific language, and another one for my primary sources in all other languages. I have marked the references in the specific language with the letter “g” in the “Label” category, and while editing my style I have changed the sort order of my bibliography to take into account Label first. The problem is that my sources from the specific language appear after the list of references which have a blank “label” category (I only use one label as I only have two categories). Can I change that? I would have thought that the references with a label, whatever that is, would come first, and then the other ones…but apparently it’s not the case…
Its not a vital problem in the sense that I can still copy and paste within the bibliography at the end, but I just thought that it would be nice to be able to have the references in correct order right from the start. Likewise, if experts here say I dont have the choice, then fair enough.
Search the library for the g in the label field, Hide those and then put a Z or any letter after g, using the “Tools> change and move field” into the label field. Now they will sort after the g records.
3 months is such a wonderful age. mine is 16 (years!).

I forgot to mention in my question that I knew I could add another label to the other references but there were just too many and I didnt have the time but your solution is perfect!!! I could have used for the first batch too actually! Oh well.
Now that I am at it, I have another question : some books are translations containing both the specific language AND the English and they are quoted for both languages in my thesis. I will need those to appear in both categories: is there a way to achieve this? (well, I was planning to copy and paste at the end but…now Im thinking: it doesn’t hurt asking :)).
Yeah 3 months is sooo lovely she just lies there watching her…hand! My other two are 5 and a half and 4, all these kids were born during my PhD thesis, I can’t tell you how stressed I am about submitting in 3 days! Im really exhausted!
If anyone reading this is not already using Endnote or who is hesitating to rely heavily on it (don’t think so as this is such a specialised forum but well, you never know, there might be some first years reading and thinking “Ok Ive bought it but there’s no way Im gonna bother that much with it”…) : please don’t hesitate anymore. Even if you were using each reference only *once* in your thesis (which means that you would not benefit so much from the database that Endnote is), you would still benefit immensely from this application, believe me. Im 3 days away from submitting and I am able to do things and implement changes at lightning speed thanks to this program! Highly recommended! Plus you’ve got Leanne here if things go wrong ;).

I am not quite sure what you are asking. Are you wanting to end up with two independent reference lists? I think exporting them at the end is the right thing to do.
What I mean is some books contain two languages, so they would need to figure in the part of the bibliography which is for the specific language, *and* in the part for all other languages. Problem is at the moment I have to choose between label “g” and “m”. if I assign one of those two labels to the dual-language books, they will be in one of the parts, not in both. Is there a way round this part from copying the reference where it occurs in the bilbliography and pasting it where I need it in the other part of the bibliography?
