How to configure for referencing Foreign Relations of the United States (FRUS) documents

Hi - I’m hoping someone has figured out a way to do this …

Within a particular FRUS volume you need to reference specific documents, but in the reference list you only want ONE item for the volume.

Example:

First footnote ref:

National Security Council (NSC) Staff Study, Annex to NSC 5608, ‘U.S. Policy Toward the Satellites in Eastern Europe’, 6 July 1956, in US Department of State, Foreign Relations of the United States, 1955–1957, Vol. XXV, p. 199 (hereinafter referred to as FRUS).

Second footnote ref:

Memorandum of Conversation, ‘The Secretary’s Conversation with French Foreign Minister Jobert’, 26 September 1956, in FRUS, 1955–1957, Vol. XXV, p. 265.

Reference List

US Department of State, Foreign Relations of the United States, 1955–1957, Vol. XXV, US Washington DC, US Government Printing Office, 1987.

I have created a reference type with output styles to reproduce the above (except FIRST footnote reference will have to be manually edited when document is finalised)

There seems to be no way of eliminating the many duplicate entries you get in the reference list, other than manuall, or is there?
