Multiple repeat reference rules

I looked on the forum for a solution to this problem but couldn’t find one - hence the post.

My university’s referencing rules dictate that '‘p.’ or ‘pp.’ are used in footnotes for references to books but NOT for references to journal articles. This presents a problem when setting a repeated reference rule for consecutive citations since I have to make a choice between ‘Ibid., p. 100’ and ‘Ibid., 100’ thus making the repeated citation not conform to either the book or journal article referencing style. Is there a way to tell Endnote to use ‘p.’ in the repeated reference for books and not to use ‘p.’ for repeated references to articles? To clarify, this is for consecutive citations, I am using a shortened form for non-consecutive repeated citations.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The easiest way I can think of - is to use the >Edit citation> “cited pages” field for one and the “suffix field” for the other?  then you can use the p. for cited pages and just put the number in suffix  for the other.
