New ProQuest interface and Internet Explorer

Hello,

My university has recently had its ProQuest databases switched to the company’s new platform, and now direct exports of references to EndNote don’t work in Internet Explorer (versions 7, 8, and 9). Instead of the .txt file being opened with EndNote, it is opened in the browser.

I understand that I can make EndNote the default program for opening .txt files (as explained here, for example:

http://researchguides.uic.edu/content.php?pid=54403&sid=1011259), but this isn’t very satisfactory, since I might need to open .txt files with other programs.

Can anyone recommend a better work around?

Direct exports work on the old ProQuest interface.

Thanks for any tips…

This appears to be a known bug with the new ProQuest interface - see http://utas.libguides.com/content.php?pid=70411&sid=984774

Thanks for this info! Glad to know it’s not just us. We’ve sent a request to ProQuest as well to get the export working.
