Whenever I cite, or change between sytles numbers keep piling, instead of taking place of the earlier

make a copy,

on the copy on the endnote ribbon select convert to unformatted citations

Look at them – do they look like this {author, YEAR #recNo; author2, year #recNo; author3, year #recNo}?

select all ctrlA

ctrl shift F9 – (this removes all fields in Word 2010/2013)

On the endnote ribbon, turn CWYW back on and update bibliography.
