Links between Word & Endnote

Hi there!

We have the new X9 version of endnote & taht is not the first time we have stability problem between Word & Endnote.

The system will not respond & freeze when people work as usual in their Word text.

Is there any possibility to desactivate in one  step all the links in Word that are related to Endnote just to be able to work manually for instance to finalize our Final report or Final word text?

Hello Daves Couture,

You would want to make a backup of the document first since you cannot undo the next step:

In Windows:

Make a backup of your document.
Press [Ctrl]+A on the keyboard to highlight everything.
Press [Ctrl]+6 (above the “T” and “Y” key) to remove any additional hidden field codes.
Press [Ctrl]+C to copy the highlighted text.
Open a new document and press [Ctrl]+V to paste.

In OS X:

Make a backup of your document.
Press [Apple]+A or [Command]+A on the keyboard to highlight everything.
Press [Apple]+6 or [Command]+6 (above the “T” and “Y” key) to remove any additional hidden field codes.
Press [Apple]+C or [Command]+C to copy the highlighted text.
Open a new document and press [Apple]+V or [Command]+V to paste.

You would now have a document with no EndNote codes.

You can also do the same thing by using the Convert to Plain Text command on the EndNote tab.

Thanks a lot, that’s exactly what I needed to fix this problem.

I think it’s maybe the same option as in Word when you’re converting the file to plain text.
