Problem with track changes in word 2010 and EndNote x6

Hello,

I have installed EndNote x6.

When I work on a word 2010 document with the track change mode is on and set to

Final; showing markup, every about 30 second the page shifts up (jumps) about half a page.

This does not happen when the review display is set to Final.

That is a real issue while I’m working on long documents.

Does anyone knows how to solve it?

Thank you,

JP

Does that happen with any document? I cannot replicate that on my system with Word 2010 installed. If it seems to be just in your one large document, try cleaning up the document encoding as we describe here:

http://endnote.com/kb/81143

I can confirm JP’s problem in Word 2013 with Track Changes on.

In my hands, EndNote changes the Review setting to show “All Markup” each time it checks for changes. In a large document, this can move the view by many pages. The problem can be reduced by turning instant formatting off but this creates other issues when reviewing documents for submission.

Ken

I can also confirm this is an issue with EndNote X6 / Word 2010, and it is a signficiant problem when working with long documents that have markup.

J…

Could one or all of you begin a case with tech support, and share your document? There may be something about your documents, such as the length or some other factor, that we cannot replicate here.

I’ve opened a tech support case (TS-01103518). I don’t want to post a document publicly online here but will share an example file with Tech Support if they give me an e-mail address to send it to.

Ken

That’s perfect, Ken; thank you! A representative has sent you an email requesting the document. I appreciate your assistance!

In case anybody is waiting to hear what happened with this case, here’s the email from tech support. It would appear there is no good workaround at present and the time frame for a solution is not yet clear.
