For at least Scopus, you do the search from their site and export to Endnote. See this page for details on Scopus and some other Export providers. I also did look at interscience.wiley’s and sciencedirect sites, and they too provide an export mechanism.
(sometimes I find I need to export twice, as sometimes after manuvering thru the open program, select library and sometimes the open as windows, nothing happens. Then if I do it again, the reference ends up in the library.)
