The EndNote® Cite While You Write ™ extension does not work on this computer

Hi all,

When I want to include the extension of Endnote CWCW to create the toolbar I receive the messag:

De extensie EndNote® Cite While You Write™’ werkt niet op deze computer ==> translated in English

The EndNote® Cite While You Write ™ extension does not work on this computer

Could be due to upgrades of Windows 10?

Or are there other solutions?

Which version of EndNote and Word do you have installed?

LibreOffice 5.4.3.2 (x64) - not Word

EndNote X8 is not compatible with LibreOffice:

You can only use the Format Paper feature with LibreOffice:

Will Endnote X8 or future versions compatible with LibreOffice and others writing softwares?

I tried the steps but I get the following message:

“Encountered a sharing violation with accessing; C:\Users\Eigenaar\Downloads\Geen titel 1. odt.”

I made with LibreOffice a .docx as well as a .odt

The steps are:

Keeping Endnote open.

Opening .rtf file and .docx

and

Opening .rtf and .docs

Tools>Format paper>Format paper

When I select .odt or .docx I get the abovementioned message. 

So, what can I do?

Good news,

In LibreOffice formatting became possible [EndNote-Format-Paper-with-any-word-processor]

I hope the CWYW extension will be possible in LibreOffice soon.
