Delete help needed - "EndNote CWYW Word 2016.bundle"

Hi – I have uninstalled EndNote from my Mac, but I still receive a message everytime I open Word that says this:

“Word was unable to load an add-in.  Your add-in isn’t compatible with this version of Word. Please contact the add-in provider for an update. (EndNote CWYW Word 2016.bundle)”

I would like to not have to see this message every time I open Word.  Can you please tell me if there is something else that I need to delete so that I can stop getting this message? Thanks.

Does this recent thread help?

No, unfortunately.  I have now deleted everything in my Application Support folder that I could find that related to Endnote…but the problem persists.  I have also rebooted my computer to see if that would help, but it doesn’t.

Per the first link you sent: When I go to the Office 365 folder, I get an error message (screenshot attached).  So I cannot make the suggested change.

The last post on the second link that you sent says the following:

“FIXED:  If anyone else has this problem you need to remove the .bundle file or it will keep asking.  I went to Word, found the CWYW toolbar extension filepath and found it that way.  The file is hidden.  After you remove this it will no longer ask you to grant access and the tollbar will be removed.”

Can you tell me exactly how to find the CWYW toolbar extension filepath?  Since the file is “hidden,” maybe I am not locating it for that reason?

Is there anything else I can try?

not a mac user, but found this by googling?

Thank you for your help, Leanne.  Unfortunately, I was still unable to find a “hidden” folder that looked like it might be an Endnote folder – even after I followed the directions in the link you posted.

I appreciate your time on this…really.  I guess there’s just no way for me to stop receiving this error message. :frowning:

No --I am sure there is.  Call tech support and ask them or ask a Mac Guru!  I am neither! LOL

If problem still continue, follow the the steps below:

  1. Open Finder,

  2. Open the folders as it shown in the picture.

  3. Delete the EndNote2016 bundle in the Word folder. If it dosen’t seem press command+shift+. to see hidden files.

That’s it!

Follow the steps below:
