Difficulty with and/& in citations

Hi

I haven’t used Endnote in a while, and am feeling quite daft at this stage.

Citations:

I need to use “and” when authors are outside of brackets, so “author and author (year)”, and “&” when authors are inside brackets, so "(author & author, year).

I can see how to change it in the Author (Year) format (see attached screenshot), but not how to do it in the (Author, year) format.

Please help? I’m using EndNotex8

Unfortunately, I don’t think that will be an option in Endnote.  You would be better off in this instance hiding the authors in the option you use less often, and typing in haw you want it to appear.

sorry, Endnote and Tony, I stand corrected and the option was right there in your attached original image.

You would need to change the settings in the Before Last boxes.

You can then have the two different formats. You can check the APA style as an example of this format.

Please contact Technical Support if you have trouble making this change.
