ENDNOTE X7 change field content in various reference

Hi,

I would like to change the content of “database” field  in10 different references at the same time.

¿How can I do this?

Thanks

The method will depend on your version of EndNote. With the current version (X7), here are the steps:

  1.  Highlight the references you wish to modify.
  2. Click the References menu and select Show “Selected References.”
  3. Click the Tools menu and select “Change/Move/Copy Fields.”
  4. For “In,” select the name of the field you wish to modify, like “Name of Database.”
  5. For “Change,” select “Replace whole field with.”
  6. The the box provided, enter the information you would like to be included in that field.’
  7. Click OK to make the replacement.
  8. Click the References menu and select “Show All References.”

If you are using a difference version of EndNote or need any further assistance, let us know.

Hello!! I need to change “https” to “http” on URL field on 700 references because with “https” it looks weird on the word document, and I dont want to do it one by one, do you know how to do it automatically? Thanks!

In the library view in Endnote, you can first search for the records you want to perform this search and replace and have those records “showing”.  – (remember this can’t be undone, so you may want to back up your library by compressing it to an enlx file, or copying the library and associated .DATA folder to a new location).

Under Edit (in the windows version) there is a Search /Replace option (ctrl+R) where you can put https: and replace with http: (uncheck word match) and select the appropriate field (URL).
