This problem started when an upload document error message kept appearing when my endnote library was open. I went through all the new references I uploaded that day and reloaded the pdfs, but that didn't fix the problem. I closed and reopened the library but the message continued. So I though the problem was with the online version. I then found a forum that suggested that I make a compressed copy of my library, empty my online library, open the compressed desktop version and allow a sync to proceed that would upload into the online version.... it didn't work out that way.
So, I followed those instructions. Where I'm at now is:
the expanded enlx file has created the .enl and .Data files/folders and the .enl file appears like the my old copy before all of this
the sync status in the .enl is a green tick and the status pasted below appears
the .enl file has 0mb (compressed .enlx is 1.82mb and .Data tdb, rdb and PDF all appear to be there) - nb I made a copy of these files/folders before all of this and the .enl file is 3.2mb (also this current version is a lot faster than the old)
online library is empty
the desktop version .enl tools>sync function is disabled
and when 'close' the .enl library, it asks me do i want the sync to finish? - I've left the computer open all day and no change to this option
when I reopen the library, everything above is still the same.
