Enlx copy and .data folder

Hello All

Would an existing library go corrupt or break if the .Data folder associated with the library is deleted?

I spent a lot of time in automating pdf file names for quick sort and pick and those are on a local folder from which I upload to the .enl file on endnote desktop . The .Data file has the pdf, seems to be  a redundant copy and I don’t need it. Would deleting this .Data folder mess up the library?

libraryname.enlx is a compressed version of the library for storage and backup.  It will be “unpacked” to recreate a libraryname.enl file and the library.DATA folder.  The .enl file is a pointer to the database which IS in the .DATA folder.  Yes.  If you delete the .DATA folder it will break the database.
