Failed to import Journals Term List

Dear Endnote community,

Although I’ve searched thoroughly the entire forum I couldn’t find a solution to my problem. I’m currently using EndNote X9, windows 10, desktop version. I would like to abbreviate journals name into the correct forms according to index Medicus. When I tried to import Journals term list from a folder named terms list / medical.txt. First, it showed a loading screen but then gave “no terms inserted into the journals term list” error message. I will deeply appreciate if you find a solution. Here is the exact order that I followed during the process:

Edit ---- Preferences — terms list ----- unchecked “update lists when importing or pasting references” and “update lists during data entry” options.

Tools → Open Term lists → Journals Term list (there was nothing to be listed here so I didn’t delete any preformed list)

Then click the “List”  section and “Journals” to get it highlighted.

Import list → Choose the file “Medical” → Open file * (gave the message that I mentioned earlier in the text)

You would need to determine if the issue is library specific or not. I would create a new library then try the same steps to see if you can add the Medical Term List to a new library or not. If a new library works and you are not using the Sync feature with your library then I would suggest using the Recovery Library command on your library.

If you are using Sync then I would suggest starting a new library then use Tools and Sync to transfer the references to a new library once the Sync completes then you could try to add the Medical Term List.
