How to change from text-citation to number-citation by Endnote X7

Hi everyone,

I checked the questions in the community, but I cannot find the answer. So I create this new question.

I would like to ask that how can I change from text-citation to number-citation in Microsoft Word 2016 with EndNote X7.

*** For example, I have the following paragraph:

“The compound A is good (Jack et al,. 2011). However, compound B is better (Yang et al., 2015). Besides, compound C should also be taken into consideration (Alice et al., 2012).”

In the reference part:

   Jack …

   Alice …

   Yang …

*** I want to automatically change this paragraph into:

“The compound A is good [1]. However, compound B is better [2]. Besides, compound C should also be taken into consideration [3].”

In the reference part:

   1. Jack …

   2. Yang …

   3. Alice …

Please advise me in this case.

Thank you so much.

I believe if you switch your output style in the manuscript in word, on the endnote ribbon, to “Numbered” you should get square brackets in order of appearance.

Thank you Leanle, your solution is worked : ).
