How to reconnect Endnote with Microsoft word again after uploading on Google drive

I uploaded my Word document which already cited with Endnote onto Google Drive then made some modification.

After that I download it back on desktop and want to add another references. Somehow the reference number started at [1] instead of the number it should be. Anyway I can continue the reference number without re-citing all over again.

Assuming you have still have the backup/pre-google drive version.  Open it, unformat citations and compare the two, accepting the temporary citations rejecting the numbers, and accepting the rest of your edits. – now reformat.  

Remember to unformat before opening it in another processor in future.
