How to sync EndNote

Hi There! I have problems syncing local Endnote to the online Endnote. Does anyone know what goes wrong?

 

Sync Details

Sync was last run: Wednesday, November 07, 2018 at 10:42:39 AM +0100

Sync Status: There are changes that need to be received.

Error Code: Server.AuthenticationToken.invalidUserCredentials

Error Message: The username/password specified is not valid.

 

Local Sync Library

Library Name: My EndNote Library.enl

References: 1152

Groups: 0

Group Sets: 1

Attachments: 2

Username: *******@lumc.nl

 

Online Sync Library

Serial Number: 3091856020 (Premium until December 29, 2019)

References: 1152

Groups: 0

Group Sets: 1

Attachments: 2 (29.73 MB)

 

Sync Limits

Number of References: 1000000 (998848 can still be added)

Number of Groups: 5000 (5000 can still be added)

Number of Group Sets: 5000 (4999 can still be added)

Attachment Storage: Unlimited

The Error Message mentions an issue with the User Name or Password.

 

I would suggest you try to log into https://www.myendnoteweb.com/

 

You will need to so by entering in your details manually to be sure you know the correct password.

 

So if the website logs you in automatically you will first need to log out and then log back in.

 

If you are not sure what the password is then you will need to reset it from the Forgot Password link on the website above.

 

 

Once you know the password or have reset it then in EndNote you can try to update the current password save in the program.

 

On Windows:

 

Go to the Edit menu then Preferences then Sync to clear the password box and re-enter it. Click Apply then OK. You can then go to Tools and Sync.

 

On MAC:

 

Go to the EndNote menu then Preferences then Sync to clear the password box and re-enter it. Click Save then close the window. You can then go to Tools and Sync.

 

You should now be able to sync.
