My problem is how to stop “Year” searches from turning into “Date” searches (opposite of an existing post). When I search on PubMed, I have a “Year contains” field–works fine, and this is in my default search. When I switch to searching in my private database, “Year” magically turns into “Date” and it seems to want an exact date, because all searches fail until I manually turn “Date” back to “Year”. And it stays as “Date” when I go back to PubMed. Sometimes “Year” in the private search turns into “Year as delimiter only” but that seems to work OK. My question: How can I make “Year” stay “Year” and never turn itself into “Date”? [Still using EndNote X5 if that matters].
