Analyses of EndNote Databases

We’ve been collecting citations from scientific databases (WHO and NLM) as well as mainstream press articles.  I’d like to do some analyses on the content of the database (dates, keywords, etc) and would like to do this in a statistical system such as SPSS, SAS.  However, there is no convenient means of accessing the database that I’ve been able to discover.  Clarivate EndNote technical assistance suggests exporting via xml and pasting into excel, but size of the database makes this a dubious path. .

In the future is there a possibility of another conversion tool that would allow a more direct connection to a common database file that SPSS or SAS would read?  Alternatively, a tool that would allow direct reading of the database by one of these analytic tools?
