In all previous versions over the last 20 years, double clicking a record opened it full screen. For those of us who used EndNote as a rich annotation, research tool, this removal of the ability to open a single record is a killer. I would have document excerpts, research notes, correspondence with authors, supplemental data attachments. In the EN20 debacle version, even the abstract gets crammed in a little column. EN20 has to be about the only database ever where it’s not possible to open an individual record.
EndNote online still works this way, and it’s ironic that EndNote online is now more functional than the desktop version in many ways. Except Groups don’t carryover, which is a major exception.
