The main problem we have with the Endnote 20 is the location of the Summary/Edit panel. When it was located at the bottom of the screen, it did not partially cover references in the reference list. Now in order to edit a record you have to open it and expand it widthways across the screen just to be able to see or use it. Obviously this then blocks the reference list view.
Not only is this cumbersome and annoying, it also makes it particularly difficult to deduplicate references. When two references are similar and you need to check the full reference to be sure if they are exact duplicates, the summary panel obscures many of the fields that you need to be able to see in the reference list.
Previously users were given the choice where to display the different panels. Please, please could this be reinstated?
