I am trying to import a citation in to X4. Normally I have no problem, however today Endnote tells me I can not import as my ‘database is read-only’. Not sure how it became read-only. My library & Endnote are on my laptop, not a network. I can not find instructions to turn-off ‘read only’. Can anyone help. Thanks.
If you’re running Windows, locate the EndNote .enl file, place your cursor on the file and right click to display a submenu. In the submenu, locate and select “Properties” which displays the library’s property dialog box. In the “General” tab look at the bottom and locate “Attributes” - if the Read-only box is selected, click to deselect (blank), click APPLY, then OK to close and save the changes.
