Formatting the letters following 'year' in ambiguous citations

Hi,

I’m using Endnote X3. I need to format the letters that discriminate ambiguous citations by the same author (e.g., Smith et al. 2010_a_, 2010_b_, 2010_c_) and the journal format specifies that the letters must be italic. I cannot figure out how to do this except by manually editing the instances of ambiguous citations after formatting the entire document.

Hi Heliozoan,

I have similar problem but I need to citing Smith et al. 2010a and Smith et al. 2010b like Smith et al. 2010ab. Do you have any idea?
