Output style and name of journal

Hi everyone,

I have a very simple question and I know I am probably missing something obvious but still I cannot find it : how do I add the name of the journal in a totally new output style ? I have the auhtor, date, DOI, abstract, but I am missing the journal. I have read the “Insert Field” several time and there is not such thing as a journal field.

Thanks in advance for the help !

You may need to click on Reference Type first and Select Journal Article so that you are creating a template for a Journal Article.

If you only want to create one template for all the reference types then in the Generic template the field for the name of the journal is called Secondary Title.

So if you go to Insert Field and see “Secondary Title” you can select that and when it goes to the output you will get the name of the journal included.

You may want to look at the Style Guide on our website:

Got it! Thanks a lot

I am glad that I was able to help.
