Surname Lord

When formatting my reference into a word document as an in-text citation it puts both the last name and first initial in the citation, e.g. Lord, C (1989).

I assume it thinks that ‘Lord’ is a prefix when it is actually the author’s surname.

Is there a way I can prevent this from happening? I am using APA 6th.

Thanks in advance

I don’t think it thinks Lord is a prefix.  I think you have two citations with Lord as the author, and APA requires that which Lord is which is included in the in text citation.  Most of the time, it is actually the same Lord, but the two records have them entered slightly differently

Lord, C in one and Lord, Craig in the other - or even if one has a period after the initial and the other doesn’t.  It is easly to fix that, by copying one into the other record.

If they are two different people, then Endnote is correctly including the initial.
