Whenever I import a reference the URL field, if it’s imported, is followed by a space, so that the output style appears as (http://www.somewhere.com ).
Occasionally the reference breaks at that space, which looks very untidy; and in any case it looks untidy and incorrect to me.
There is information under “EndNote Cleans Up” in the help text about cleaning up spaces in certain contexts, but I could find no information about how to change this (if you can). As far as I can tell, the only thing to do is to manually edit imported references to remove the trailing space.
Ideally I would like Endnote’s clean up to remove a trailing space after a field if the next punctuation mark is a closing parenthesis - e.g. “)” - mark.
Can this be done?
