Endnote X3 Mac Snow Leopard Problem

I had Endnote X3 working until a couple of weeks ago, but now suddenly endnote crashes every time I try to open a library. Even when I try to create a new library, it crashes. Any idea? I have tried reinstalling many time to no avail. Any help much appreciated.

And you haven’t yet picked up the phone and called Tech Support?

I did. The person I spoke to just told me to email the thomson support with details, and said it might take at least 3 days to respond! So I wait I guess.

You will be waiting for a long, long time.  I spoke to the head of support, and he was candid that they are not pressing to fix any of the Snow Leopard issues (including crashing) at any time soon (its been 6 months now already…)

Not enough resources being put towards this at the company apparently.  Bad business.

I’m not sure which ‘head of support’ you spoke to, Wolfjo, but this is certainly not something that I have said, nor is it something I would expect to hear from anyone working on my team.

We are only aware of an issue with Word 2008 and printing with Snow Leopard, which is more of a MS bug that we’re tracking, and have posted on our compatibility page.  There have been a couple of cases where customers with older virus protection programs have run into problems, but I don’t know if that would be considered Snow Leopard-specific.

Additionally, we do take any reports of Snow Leopard compatibility issues seriously.

Hi Rick,

I actually sent in a support request to Thomson Technical Support regarding this issue on 10 Feb 2010, so its been a couple of weeks now and I haven’t heard anything back. My technical support number is TS-00214129. As I say, I’m still waiting and hopeful. My problem is not related to Word 2008 as I tried to run Endnote X3 after completely uninstalling MS Office 2008, and I still get the same crashes.

Any help regarding this will be appreciated.

Cheers

Try moving somewhere else your rdb directory in your *.data folder. You’ll lose your groups, but it worked for me.
