EndNote x6 and Word for Mac. does it work?

I have EndNote x6 (Bld 8318) and Word for Mac Version 15.23.2 (160624). what is the best soltution to work with it?

Do i need to buy Endnote x7?

EndNote X6 and prior were developed prior to Office and Word 2016 for the Mac, and they are not currently compatible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  EndNote X6 for Mac was designed to work with Word 2008 and 2011, and one of these versions of Word would be needed to use EndNote with Word.

EndNote X7 will work with Word 2016. Since you own a previous version of EndNote, you would be eligible for an upgrade version of EndNote X7.
