Please look at the attachments of EndNoteX5 and Word2010. I can not clear the search column (i.e. a) on the left of the Find buttuon. And there are other historical search keywords in the pull-down menu.
You will not be able to clear this list from within EndNote or Word.
The only way to clear the list would be to edit the Registry.
NOTE: These steps involve going into the registry, which can be harmful if you don’t know what you’re doing, so if you don’t feel comfortable with this, please call us back when you’re in front of the computer and we can walk you through this.
-
Close all programs.

Going into the registry is not something you normally want to do, so to be safe we’re going to back up the registry before we do anything else. Go to Start>Run and enter “regedit” and click OK. When the Registry Editor opens up, go to File>Export. In the window that comes up, at the bottom where it says Export Range, make sure it’s set to All. At the top where it says Save In, make sure it’s set to Desktop. Then for filename, enter “reg backup” and click Save.
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7

- Now in the registry editor delete this key:

- Close registry editor.
5.Start Word and see if the History list is still showing.
