I used this as a very quick way to display subsets of my library temporarily when I only needed to do so once, especially when I wanted to sort just that subset by clicking on a field label. Using right-click context menus and keyboard shortcuts, it was much faster than creating groups, and did not clutter my Groups pane with those I would not need again. Please restore this feature!
