Reference Manager Web Services authorization denied for ip XXX.XXX.XX.XX (refman 12)

The title says it all - when we try to web publish we get the error

Reference Manager Web Services authorization denied for ip

  1. Reference Manager 12 is the program

  2.  RMWP is running as a service (host PC is Win XP SP3)

  3. IP address forwarded through the firewall

  4. Internally we can see the published database using the host IP address, externally we get the error. However - both internally and externally we can see the custom logos that we have set up

Can anyone help with getting past this error when publishing outside? Its driving me insane and there is no documentation to help understand what it could be
