Searching references using "NOT"

When searching for references within an EndNote library, is there a way to search for references that don’t have a specific term, i.e., using the Booleran operator NOT?

It isn’t as easy as it should be. If you want some records and NOT something else, the first field is filled (maybe with something everywhere- the letter e)? and then the AND operator can be changed to NOT and “is or contains” as the second term to search for the second field. You used to be able to search for it and then show all, and hide the selected, but that hide option was removed in Endnote21. I don’t remember if early version and a more easy way to eliminate a matching group.

The otherway is to create a group with the term and a group with all the references - and then combine groups (to combine groups, left click on the MY GROUPS heading and choose combine groups)- the all references group and change AND to NOT the group with the selected term
