EndNote X2 introduces a full text locator for references, Smart Groups for instant reference sorting, Cite While You Write™ (patent pending) compatibility with Microsoft® Word 2008 and additional features that allow users to maximize efficiency and focus on their research.

EndNote X2 combines time saving features such as finding full text and Smart Groups with Microsoft Word 2008 compatibility to streamline the research process for Mac users,” said Keith MacGregor, EVP Academic and Government Markets, Thomson Reuters. “Additionally, direct access to scholarly resources in ISI Web of Knowledge(SM) and fast-tracked online manuscript submission using Manuscript Central™ provides researchers with integrated solutions from discovery to publishing.”

Find full text automatically
In EndNote X2, the user simply selects one or more references, or a group, to locate full text by scanning available online sources. Once found, EndNote downloads and attaches the PDF file of the article to the appropriate reference automatically, all while the user continues working.
