The current options for managing acronyms for institutional authors are tedious, i.e. excluding the author and replacing it with a prefix in the in-text citation, and creating an title only EndNote record for insertion as a ‘see reference’ in the reference list, e.g. MDBA see Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
It should be possible to create a new acronym field for author entries that is used to replace the full authors name in in-text citations. It could work in much the same way as the short title field, in that the acronym field is only used when there is data entered in that field.
A further refinement would be the automatic addition of a see reference for the acronym to the reference list. But that might be asking for too much!
