Hi!
I inadvertently checked the “Don’t ask me again” box in the pop-up dialog window prompted when closing a reference, but I want to revert to the previous parameters, i.e. being asked if I want to save the changes every time I close a reference. Is there a way to do that? I didn’t see it in the preferences.
Thanks!
You would need to edit the registry to change the setting back to be prompted when closing a reference.
if you don’t feel comfortable with this, please call for Technical Support when you’re in front of the computer and we can walk you through this.
Windows XP
- Close all programs.
2, Go to Start then click on Run… type “Regedit” and press Enter
- Open the following registry string:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Preferences
-
Select the key ShowSaveDialog
-
Right Click and select Modify.
-
Change the value data from F to T.
-
Close the Registry Editor.
Windows Vista or Windows 7
-
Close all programs.
-
Go to the start menu. In the search box here, type “regedit” and press enter.
-
Open the following registry string:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Preferences
-
Select the key ShowSaveDialog
-
Right Click and select Modify.
-
Change the value data from F to T.
-
Close the Registry Editor.
If you now open EndNote then edit a reference and close the reference EndNote will not prompt if you want to save the changes.
