promt to save when changes are made in EndNote reference

Assistance please

previuosly when i make a change in a reference, EndNote promts me with a diolog box, asking if i want to save that change. How do i get that box back?

Do you mean that it used to prompt you if you wanted to save the modified reference in your library? If you are on Windows, this setting is saved in the registry.

Note: When modifying the registry you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. If you are not comfortable modifying the registry, please contact Technical Support.

  1. Quit all applications.

  2. On Windows Vista or Windows 7, press [Windows Key] + [r] on the keyboard to open the run screen, or just type regedit into the Search field in the Start menu and hit enter to run regedit. Windows 8 Press Win [Windows key] + R on your keyboard. At the dialog box that opens, type regedit.exx and press OK.
    On XP or 2000, Go to Start in the lower left hand side of your monitor and then select Run and enter regedit. Then click OK.

  3. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ISI ResearchSoft\EndNote\Preferences

  4. Right-click “ShowSaveDialog” and select Modify.

  5. Change the Value Data from “F” to “T” to mark it as true.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Exit the Registry.

You will now be prompted to save the changes again in EndNote.
