Caution when using Endnote libraries from previous versions under Endnote 21

I would like to ask the developers of Endnote to make it clear for people who installed version 21 to take cautions before loading under version 21 any library created with a prior version. People who would wish to go back to their previous version, such as the last great 9.3, would be surprised to find out that the display of the right panel (reference/preview/etc.) has been altered for the new panel with all of its inconsistencies. To be sure, I at first believed that there was something changed in the previous app. (9.3 in my case), which is why I uninstalled and reinstalled it, but that didn’t solve the issue. I then finally understood that the library itself was converted to the new format, and the only way to cure the distortion was to use a backup (which I happily had).
The bottom line is: MAKE A BACKUP before using any prior library, to enable going back to yiur orior version if you wish. A warning was embedded in version 9 to warn people of the change of format. Such a warning should also be embedded in version 21. I urge the developers to do that. In my case, I won’t try a new version if it does not issue such a warning.

Actually I’m a new user of Endnote and Endnote 21 is my first version. However, I thought a new version, that you go to buy too, is a better progression than the previous ones. There are however one or two things I would like to see, for example, in the right panel. First, a “note” section beside the summary, the edit and the pdf sections, in which you might want to tell something about the reference. Second, but this might not be very important, that is to show the abstract or at least part of it below the summary and if the space is a problem one might use a “read more” or a “read less” button. Hwever, I acquired Endnote recently.

I purchased version 20 and returned it. Likewise 21. These versions are degraded and confused apps, in contrast to the previous version 9.3, which is far more advanced and convenient. Instead of improving 9.3, they now try to imitate more inferior programs. A great pity, as Endnote 9 was excellent, and I am now using it again.
