I’ve got Microsoft Word 2011 for mac. Have been using endnote web on a PC elsewhere and it has been working fine. However, on the Mac I keep getting the message “Cite While You Write could not connect to EndNote Web”. I did go to endnote web preferences, CWYW preferences, and entered there the endnote web URL with my email address and password. To no avail. Can you help? It is getting terribly frustrating.
Hello:
In my experience, this is caused by one of two things; document damage, or interference by security software. To narrow down which it may be, please restart Word, then open a new, blank Word document and try to use the Cite While You Write (CWYW) tools.

this means that the problem is document-based. Please use the field-code cleanup steps here:

This is where it gets tricky. Something on your system or network is blocking the CWYW tools, though identifying exactly what can be quite challenging. Check to see if any proxies, firewalls, antivirus, or any other security software could be blocking the connection to EndNote on the web. It may be useful to have your IT staff use a web-traffic debugging software such as Fiddler to help identify if it’s being blocked and by what.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions or problems.
