Does EndNote 7.8 word with Word 2016?

Logged into EndNote today and it upgraded the software to Endnote 7.8. I swear I saw this it was compatible with Word 2016 but I can’t find that anywhere now and I really don’t want to update Word (AGAIN) only to find (AGAIN) that I need to revert back to an older version (AGAIN).

Does the newest EndNote 7.8 work with the updated Word?

Well, I just tried, and no, it stills displays the same error message.

no X7.x will not work with Word16  

See this link for compatibility  and options (as I understand it, use basic online version, upgrade to X8 or revert to word 2015)
