When importing the OSCOLA reference type table (here), I encounter a weird bug. For the source type ‘Contributions to an Edited Book’ some references include the category ‘pages’ while others do not. How is this possible and could anyone help me ensure that the category ‘pages’ shows up everywhere? Thank you in advance!
From my quick perusal of the file you linked to, that reftype table doesn’t include the pages field for “contribution to an edited book”, while some of the ref types do, so if the record was created with a different ref type, and the field was filled, it might show up – while if the field is empty and unassigned to the ref type, the field will not be shown.
You can edit the ref type table to add the name Pages to the appropriate field, to always see the field to enter data into it, in preferences. In endnote, this kind of reference type is usually referred to as “Book Section” and has that field assigned. I suspect if you look at yours in the edit preferences, reference types, modify then select your ref type “contribution…” it will not have the word “pages” in that field, but if the field did have information in it before updating the ref table, it would show the field with the “generic” name - which in this case is still “Pages”.
