EndNote and Copyright

Hello, I have been asked by many users as to what the implications are of copyright when it comes to storing documents within an EndNote library.  Has anyone explored this issue?  The general consensus seems to be that sharing EndNote libraries that contain actual articles (i.e., pdf or .doc) would be a violation of copyright, but are there any other copyright implications that users should know about or consider when it comes to storing articles within EndNote?

Depends on your licensing with each publisher.  Some licensing limits the number of articles that can be downloaded.  I asked our library services to check, and we don’t seem to have any of these restrictions.  Obviously, as you suggest, it would be a violation if we shared the library with the attachments, with external users…
