EndNote 'cite as you write' on Word deleting previous references when new ones are added

Hello,

I’m having a bit of a frustrating problem with EndNote ‘cite as you write’ on Word. As soon as I insert a reference, EndNote wipes all of the references I had previously added to my document. Anyone had this happen to them before or knows a way around this?!

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

what output style are you using?  Is it a footnote style by any chance? Have you tried “Convert citations and bibliography to unformated citations”?
