When I open EndNote (X7.5.3) I get a popup window which asks whether I would like to update to 17.6.0.11666?

After it ownloads and begins the instalation it get stuck with the following message: this updater was unable to find any copies of endnote that could be updated to endnote x7.6

Now if this version was not intended for update why did I get the message to update in the first place. In short I do I resolve this issue?

This typically happens if there is a missing file, damaged files or if there was an issue with the installation of your current EndNote X7.5.3. The X7.6 update is intended for you. If this is not working, I would suggest one of the following:

  1. Contact Technical Support to troubleshoot the update issues: http://endnote.com/support
  2. Uninstall the software and re-install using the full EndNote X7.6 package: http://endnote.com/kb/82126. If you are part of a Site or Volume License, you may need to obtain the updated installer through your institution.

I kept the office 2011 for Endnote. I do not open together the 2011 and 2016 versions though. Could this interfere with the installer?

Having both Word 2011 and 2016 on a system is not an issue for the update process.

The instalation went OK but there is not Endnote Tab in Word 2016. When I opened Endnote I recieved a message to upgrade to X7.7. I did the upgrade which went on smoothly, but still no Endnote Tab. Copied the bundle file to the Office 365 startup folder to no avail. What else?

THOMSON REUTERS announced the newest version of EndNote, “EndNote X8” to be released on the 8th of November, 2016.

I sure hope it adresses all the many problems and issues we have been discussing througout.

Hi, I just bought and installed a MS Office Hoem & Student 2016 and my Endnote no longer seems to work. Error code 5003 came initially. Now no End note tab on MS word - Can you help?

Hi Jason - I have been using Endnote on my mac with office 365. Just ran out of subscription and bought 2016 Office hoem & stident version fro mac and installed. Had Endnote 5003 message and now I can no longer use my end note. Please help
