Hi together,
after updating Microsoft Word to Version 15.21.1 on OSX Yosemite I have the following issue with EndNote:
when trying to work with EndNote in Word I receive the following error: “EndNote is not responding. Error = -600”
Anyone else with this issue?

I have everything working fine on MBP with OSX 10.11.4, Word 15.21.1, and X7.5.1.1
I was getting error -600 on my iMac with OSX 10.10.5, Word 15.21.1, and X7.5.1.1
I didn’t really want to, but my MBP is dying and I left the charget in the office. Once I updated to El Capitan, it worked just fine.

Hi I also have this error appearing after updating to Word 15.21.1 (160411)
I have the latest version of EndNote X7.5.1 (Bld 11194) and have recently reinstalled both Office365 and Endnote to correct templating errors that were occuring and COM errors. The other errors seem to have been fixed but this Error -600 still persists when I open and close word

I received the following message from ThomsonReuters Support team and could solve the issue after an update to El Capitan:
Dear --,
Sorry about this. This week Microsoft released an update to Office for Mac 2016. This update causes the “error -600” only on the Mac OS Yosemite. To fix the error you need to install the Mac OS El Capitan.
On your machine, open the App Store and click on updates. El Capitan is a free upgrade for Mac computers.

Thanks for the advice about the message from EndNote. My Apple retailer said for me to never upgrade the OS just any software I am running so I am reluctant to do what EndNote have said… but at least there is an explanation of why the error is coming up!

agreed, but I need EndNote at the moment 
before updating to El Capitan, I created a bootable USB drive to later install a clean version of El Capitan.
Maybe that will work for you as well.

This error happens on Mac OS X 10.10 with the latest version of EndNote and word installed, you can either downgrade Word to 15.20 or upgrade the Mac OS X to 10.11. Details for doing this can be found here:

Update: I downgraded word to 15.20 and it solved the issue

I tried downgrading to Microsoft 15.20 and Word still crashes when I try to import citations from Endnote to Word
I also tried downloading Endnote X6 and still crashed.
You should release another update with the solution to this. Some people are trying to work on their thesis work and is very frustrating that simply importing citations is not working. Others don’t want to upgrade their OS because we have other software that does not work with El Capitan.
Will downgrading Endnote X7 to the previous version also help? If so, please include the installer so that people can do that
