Endnote X9 updated and created 1000 copies of one of my groups- how to delete?

I’ve been searching and searching for how one might delete multiple groups at once, because I have roughly 1000 copies of an empty group since the latest update. I’ve only been able to find info about deleting one group at a time, which will take hours. Any insights appreciated.
