you need to change the citation template (which it sounds like you think you did) save the output style to a new name and ensure that you use that new style to format the document. – by changing to the output style in the endnote ribbon or the format bibliography dialogue. If you attach the output style you have modified we can also look at it. – the modified .ens file should be located in the folder defined by the “folder locations” in your preferences.
