I haven’t used it, but you should explore Endnote Web’s capture plug-in, to get the info into endnote web (and presumably copy it from there to your desktop version).
Then you need to check the webpage ref type template in your output style to reflect what you want as the output.
Both of your attached images were regarding point 1 (getting it into endnote) so I am not sure what you already know in regards to getting the reference into your manuscript part of the question. Harvard has a template for webpage:
Author. Year. _Title _[Online]|. Place Published|: Publisher|. Available: URL| [Accessed Access Date Access Year]|.
Which yielded this output below for one of mine, so if your requirements are different, you need to edit the template to reflect your requirements. (I obviously didn’t have all the fields regarding access date etc filled in.)
My issue here is simple. I’m looking to reference all what I get from magazine, textbooks and web sites using the capabilities of the Endnote
As the Goole Scholar contains an integrated database for all published textbook and peer-reviewed magazine, then it is quite easy to use it to reference our entire work.
Fortunately, the Goole Scholar can be linked to the Endnote and thus we have no problem to reference the articles and textbook from which we get information as we have an icon by which we can export the full reference to the Endnote and then to the Microsoft Word! This is fantastic.
The problem appears as we need to reference the information that we get from a particular web site (like the example I’ve given in the previous post). In this case, we don’t have an icon by which we can import the full reference for that web site!
Why there is no icon by which we can import the reference for a web site (home page)? In my previous example, I wanted to reference the information that I got form the link
Is that possible with Endnote? Otherwise, how can we reference the information that we get from the internet (web sites, home pages, etc.)? Do we need to do it manually?
Please, have a look on the my workflow in how I reference my work
I think Endnote Web doesn’t do what I’m looking for (please, see the attached screenshot)
What I need is to reference the information that I get from a particular web site (home page)! As I have already mentioned, it is easy to reference the information we get from magazine or textbook AUTOMATICALLY but when it comes to reference the information that we get from a particular web site , then there is no AUTOMATIC way!
The secret is to have an icon “import into endnote” the same way as we have it in the Google scholar.
Note: If you install the IE plugin, the Cite While You Write source application may switch to EndNote Web. This can be easily changed back by going into the Cite While You Write preferences and changing the Application preference back to EndNote.
Once the plugin is installed, you will see a toolbar in your browser with a “Capture” button. This will save the details about the web page as a new record.
